Anonymous Vows to Hack the State of the Union Address

Anonymous, the Internet?crusaders best known for backing SOPA, has vowed to hack the State of the Union Address tonight.?

In a post, "Anonymous Call to Immediate Action!," the hacker group explained its clear intent to dismantle web broadcasts of President Obama's address, citing plans to push the Cybersecurity?Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act through Congress.

"The defeated CISPA act turns private companies into government informants," they wrote, before reciting a laundry a list of other indiscretions that includes the use of military drones within U.S. borders and wiretapping. "We reject the State of the Union. We reject the authority of the President to sign arbitrary orders and bring irresponsible and damaging controls to the Internet."?

Dubbed Operation SOTU, the mission even spawned its own Twitter account, @OpLastResort, which The HuffingtonPost says is associated with Swartz, an Internet activist who committed suicide after years of fighting federal hacking charges.?

No one knows for sure if the group will follow through, but for now it's promise "to?form a virtual blockade between Capitol Hill and the Internet" seems honest enough.?
